The project is Design and Instrumentation of the Data Acquisition of a Cherenkov Telescope based on Silicon PhotoMultipliers. The project aim is the detection of Cherenkov light using an application specific integrated circuit that will be fabricated with 180nm CMOS technology. The ASIC will be integrated by a transimpedance amplifier (TIA), a trigger logic unit (TLU), to discriminate the input signals and generate a read trigger signal if a desirable event has been detected, a phase-locked loop (PLL)) to generate a clock reference for the time to digital converter (TDC), and a Charge-to-Digital-Converter (QDC), in order to determine the amount of charge generated within each individual SIPM.
