  In 2016, I co-founded Global Citizen India, which has emerged as one of the largest policy advocacy and accountability platform in India. The movement started through a partnership between Global Citizen (an International non-profit) and tGELF in India. As a member of the founding team, I also headed and policy and government relations team for Global Citizen India, with the objective to engage with policymakers, corporation, and multi-laterals to nudge them to step up their financial commitments to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and hold them accountable for those new announcements. Through the movement, we also stitched together a strong network of over 60 developmental partners, multi laterals and multiple state governments to move the needle on public policy issues. Over our three month social campaign, we mobilised over half a million Global Citizens who took over two million social actions that helped us raise $6.38 billion in commitments toward the Sustainable Development Goals that are set to transform 518 million lives when realised. As a celebration of our efforts, we organised the Global Citizen Festival in India, in order to further incentivise social actions on our platform through a free ticket to the concert. The inaugural festival was headlined by Coldplay, Jay Z, Demi Lovato, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, and many other global celebrities and influencers.

  I took a sabbatical from my day-job to work for India's principal opposition party during the national elections in 2019. During this time, I worked very closely with Mr. Jairam Ramesh (a member of the Indian Parliament and Convenor, of the Indian National Congress' Central Election Committee), in the capacity of a political aide and policy advisor to develop, socialise and implement the party's overall campaign strategy for the 2019 General Elections in India. In this role, I played a key role in drafting the party's manifesto (after consultations with sector experts, industry leaders, policy advisors, academicians, and the people at large), devising and executing its communication strategy (both on traditional and digital media) and actively communicating with the candidates to redress any challenges being faced on the ground. I also engaged with different leaders and stakeholders within the party to coordinate the efforts being put in by different departments to ensure the cohesion of the campaign.
