I worked with him during our time together at UNCC where we were both students on a number of projects and alongside each other at EPRI in the Operations and Maintenance Program where he set the standard on stakeholder engagement.

I first met Aaron at the ISA POWID 2006 Symposium, when he worked for EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute). For the past years, Aaron has served as Session Chair, General Chair, Technical Track Chair, Director, Past-Director/Marketing Chair for ISA POWID. Aaron and I were invited to act as Director and Director-Elect respectively in 2015 when POWID experienced some unexpected difficulties. It has been a great pleasure to co-work with Aaron and all the other POWID volunteer leaders to walk through all the challenges and dynamics.

• Managed a cross-sector (Nuclear-Generation-Power Delivery & Utilization) effort to develop requirements for digital I&C asset procurement that satisfied cyber security controls. • Managed the I&C Reliability Advisory Group that focused on analog and digital reliability issues in nuclear power plants, and also conducted research that supplemented the core I&C integration committee base program. • Reviewed and prepared technical reports, presentations, and project updates prior to final customer review and publishing for a diverse range of projects such as Preventive Maintenance of Digital I&C Systems, Cyber Security Procurement Requirements, Transient Analysis for Equipment Condition Monitoring, Post Accident Monitoring Instrumentation. • Managed a Fossil Power Plant Instrumentation & Controls research program in the Generation Sector, including development of multi-year research portfolio, annual financial management, and delivery of technical results. During this time the program membership increased steadily and became a vital portion of the Generation sector research offering. • Managed the EPRI Fleetwide Monitoring Interest Group, which meets twice annually and focuses on technical discussions around online monitoring and diagnostics of power plant equipment. The group has grown to more than 15 members, and has attracted support from EPRI’s Nuclear sector. • Coordinated and documented a one-week training course on the subject of instrument drift, uncertainty analysis, and setpoint calculations for the Tokyo Electric Power Company, conducted in February of 2006. • Coordinated research program activities, including contract placement and management, under the direction of a Program Manager for the Generation I&C and Automation research program. • Coordinated research project activities in Nuclear I&C in equipment condition monitoring, on-line monitoring of instrument channels, wireless sensors, and instrument calibration data analysis.
