I work closely with educators to create improvement plans as needed, ensuring the highest quality of instruction. Address and resolve a variety of student concerns, including discipline, truancy, academic challenges, health issues, classroom behavior, and harassment. I collaborate with school counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, resource officers, and administrators to devise effective, long-lasting solutions tailored to individual student needs. Oversee the recruitment and hiring process for teaching and support staff. My duties include screening candidate files, chairing interview committees, conducting reference checks, and liaising with Human Resources to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Champion equity and inclusivity within our school community as a member of the Leading for Equity team. I support staff in examining and challenging systems and beliefs that may perpetuate achievement gaps, fostering an environment where all students can thrive. Manage the school's social media presence to engage with our community, showcase student achievements, and promote school events. This has significantly increased school visibility and facilitated stronger connections between students, parents, and staff. Coordinate annual state testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate the collection of valuable data on student performance. Serve as the Section 504 Coordinator for assigned grade levels, ensuring the provision of necessary accommodations for students with disabilities to promote their success and well-being.
