Styrene Monomer and Propylene Oxide (SMPO) Plant Design

• Developed an extensive Aspen Plus model simulating a SMPO process from ethylbenzene that resulted in over 60 individual unit operations including 10 distillation columns, 4 reactors, and over 30 heat exchangers• The plant and its equipment were sized and costed using Aspen Economic Evaluator. Utility costs, yearly costs, and number of operators were also factored into overall cost and resulted in a yearly revenue of $1.49 billion

1,4-Butanediol Plant Design

• Developed an Aspen Plus simulation for a plant requiring 75 MMlb per year of 1,4-Butanediol.
