Yorkshire and Lincolnshire search and rescue (YALSAR)

  YALSAR is a Lowland Search and Rescue team that covers South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The group is made up entirely of volunteers who are willing to give up their time to help others and potentially save lives Available 24 hours a day 365 days a year the team is equipped to reach even the farthest parts of the county within an hour. We work with South Yorkshire Police,Humberside Police and other emergency services to undertake specialist searches or major incident support.   Been the family business this has been a way of life and an excellent foundation to start my career. sub-contracted to A to Z Tree Services who carry out work on behalf of the local authority in areas which include woodlands, housing, highway, schools, Sheffield Super tram network, railways and riversides. The work included climbing, ground work, and the use of several specialist machines such as chain saw, chipper, stump grinders, tractors and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). Daily duties included planning and applying traffic management, liaising with customers, providing quotations with an understanding of tree preservation orders and conservation areas and restrictions due to wildlife preservation and protection. Additional duties included checking climbing equipment as per Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER), writing and implementing risk assessments and carrying out dynamic risk assessments whilst on-site.
