My goal was to provide the best customer service while being current on my skills in cutting, color and styling. Communication skills are a must. I was expected to understand the products carried by the salon so that I could make specific hair care recommendations. Marketing myself to my clients as a way to generate personal and salon growth was very important. I also assisted the owner with his clients when needed, helped with marketing and performed receptionist duties when needed. Cost Cutters Salon Manager, Senior Manager, Educator for Regis Corporation and Paul Mitchell
-
Jan 2001 - Apr 2007
With Cost Cutters, I fully took part of every opportunity they had to offer. I successfully lead 6-14 employees and multi-managed 2 salons. I started as a stylist and ended my position as a senior member of management and educator on behalf of Regis and Paul Mitchell Systems. My duties as a senior manager included growing my own salon and developing my staff, managing inventory, conducting meetings along with employee reviews and documentation. I also was expected to schedule effectively to accommodate the business we had as well as the business we were working to achieve. Hiring and training all of my own staff was key in the growth I successfully experienced. Additionally, I trained new members of management and helped those that were struggling by making salon visits on behalf of my district manager. I educated on Regis cutting, color and style techniques for our company and in beauty schools. This also lead to recruitment opportunities for future professionals. The same objectives were also met for Paul Mitchell systems.Being an active educator gave me the opportunity to travel to various markets and educational events. Show less
