  A specialty role created to respond to the severe drought affecting northwestern Victoria which has seen communities cut off due to the severe drift sand covering and closing roads.The role has been created to consolidate Council's emergency response and recovery to stranded residents and affected communities, update emergency services of egress to the area, coordinate community meetings and stake holder meetings, work through native vegetation requirements, find permanent solutions to stopping drift sand over roads as well as clearing, reconstructing and opening closed roads through local contractors employing disaffected farmers.
