Apr 2013 - Jul 2019
In 2013, I started working as an independent contractor in the residential construction and remodeling industry. By 2016, I was no longer functioning as a subcontractor, but started direct sales to residential and commercial clients. We catered to residential clients needing anything from minor repair and maintenance to full home renovations. On the commercial side we catered to clients needing repair and maintenance, even on a routine schedule, as well as minor remodeling and updating, such as floors, painting, trim work or bathroom remodels. As the business owner, I was responsible for sales and marketing, financial management and project management, while still, at times having portions of the labor that me and my team needed to directly accomplish on sites. In mid 2016, I brought on a business partner who primarily took over the site management and leadership of our employees while I continued sales and financial management and over-site of subcontractors. In 2019, when we moved back to Jacksonville, FL to have our kids back close to family, I left the entire business to my partner for management and refinement of direction.
