This internship was completed remotely in Dublin due to Covid restrictions. I worked as an intern developing a simulation model for the average female for use in crash test simulation. This involved the use of Madymo to adapt a basic human model to meet the objective. This internship took place online so my communication skills were greatly improved, along with skills in research, report-writing and presenting. The project objective changed due to unforeseen circumstances. Instead, I developed a simulation model to be used to validate the female model upon completion. My problem-solving skills and response to pressuring situations were enhanced during this internship. Show less

I worked on the new Intel plant project. I was mainly responsible for organizing the construction workpacks for the foreman on-site, along with completing any other tasks that were required of me. The skills I learned were Project management, teamwork, organizational skills and I gained a greater insight into the running of a large engineering company. I worked on the new Intel plant project. I analysed data and wrote reports on my findings. The data was extracted from machines which were attached to the front of vehicles, which recorded the reflectivity of road markings using machine learning. I secured these machines to the vehicle, and also helped in assembly of the machines. I also completed other tasks, such as developing a new mechanism to secure the machine to the vehicle. This internship introduced me to machine learning and improved my skillset in areas such as data analysis, problem-solving and hands-on work in a mechanics garage. Show less
