As a crop advisor with a retail company you develop new skills to achieve the same result, increase yield on a budget. Every ranch and every field presents a new set of challenges that you must adapt too, fix, rejuvenate or just live with it dependeing on budget. I have also gained a new perspective and skills on learning how to operate a business. In this role you must adapt your recommendtion's according to grower philosophy, budget, crop need, soil or crop remediation long term or short term, insect pressure, disease and of course weather. This role developed me as a man, leader and provided plenty of work experience. On an 18,000 acre ranch there was and is always work to be done. My duties included just about anything the ranch needed with the exception or operating equipment. From Managing harvest crews, labor crews, spray crews, field scouts, irrigation, fertilizer applications and many other task on the ranch. I am truly grateful for my time at Hansen Ranches.
