Space Station Hardware: Review hardware for Space Station Astronauts in Hardware Provider labs throughout the Johnson Space Center community, inspecting and performing work on their hardware insuring usability, functionality and safety for flight crew operations in zero gravity. Review packed hardware for astronauts at packing facilities in both Houston and Kennedy Space Centers. These reviews are conducted for Flight hardware in their final packed configurations for multiple types of space vehicles such as Space Shuttle Middeck, Multi Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM), European Automated Transfer Vehicles (ATV), Japanese H-2 Transfer Vehicles, Russian Progress and Soyuz vehicles. Work closely with Cargo Coordinators, Stowage integrators, Inventory Stowage Officers, Assembly Check out Officers and Operations nomenclature representatives in order to coordinate reviews of packed hardware and work through issues with hardware providers for review and packing of hardware.Give inputs for the crew office at events such as Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) meetings (to discuss impacts, costs etc.), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and other design reviews in regards to Flight Support Equipment (FSE) and any other cargo related hardware being developed by the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) and other contractors (ie. cages, pouches, transfer bags, kit bags etc.).

Project Management: Research requirements for cargo items to determine stowage configurations for International Space Station re-supply flights. Design intricate Stowage configurations using an array of stowage provision including Pyrell and minicell foam. Give direction to Drafters in production of ISS Stowage Drawings (SSCCD) that incorporates those configurations and requirements. Give final approval on engineering drawings for release through the Engineering Drawing Control Center at NASA. Attend all weekly Launch Package Manager’s meetings, gathering stowage data and giving stowage input and feedback concerning missions operations. Consult Hardware Developers/Providers with the integration of oversized cargo. Support missions with Real-time Volumetric, Weight and C.G. analysis of Cargo and Racks during missions at Mission Control Center (MCC). Strong knowledge of NASA related processes such as Manifesting, Integration Schedules, Drawing release through EDCC, COFR Process, AS9100 Certification, Internal Process development. Strong knowledge base for recurring flight hardware stowed in the Multi Purpose Logistics Module, Logistics Single Module and currently the Columbus Module, hardware such as Utilization (Payloads), water transfer, Human Research Facility (HRF), Crew Health Care System (CHeCS), Extra-Vehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) and Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) tools. Strong knowledge of all ISS Resupply pressurized vehicles and all cargo elements pertaining to them from the racks down to the Cargo Transfer Bags. Have strong experience in assessing flight hardware and integrating it into the carrier (for Ascent and Descent) and meeting mass and CG requirements.
