I joined Figma as its 3rd employee in 2013. The company had just raised a seed round and was working to build "Photoshop in the web browser." During my time there, we pivoted to become a collaborative interface design tool, we launched a product our early users loved, and we raised a $14 million Series A, led by Greylock Partners. The company is now valued at over $2 billion. My responsibilities included: • Collect/organize customer feedback, and bring their perspectives to the table as we define new features • Work with small teams of engineers and designers to define and design new features • Work with the team to organize and plan our product development work • Manage the weekly sprint planning process • Give feedback on or approve all customer-facing changes • Use the product extensively; identify regressions and log engineering tasks to improve the UX • Write/edit all UI copy • Plan and manage releases; coordinate messaging with our marketing manager • Develop our pilot program by pitching to design leaders at companies like Twitter and Thumbtack • Business operations (managed all accounting, bank accounts, financial projections, 409A valuation, Series A due diligence, etc.) Show less
