Work and tasks were primarily performed on campus in the chemistry teaching labs located in the Golisano building of Niagara University. Tasks included, but were not limited to: • Supported the teaching labs through independently working to maintain the teaching labs daily, with setup being completed by Monday morning and tear down accomplished by Friday evening based upon the experiments listed for each lab. • Preparation and organization of all teaching labs before the start of each semester and assurance that any broken equipment was replaced in a timely fashion based upon the requirements for each teaching lab per the main inventory checklist. • Replenishment, preparation, and handling of hazardous chemicals for lab setup (such as flammables and corrosives). Adherence to lab safety protocol in labeling all prepared chemicals to make aware of the associated safety hazard risks. • General restock of dry goods and basic solutions for each of the teaching labs (glassware soap, distilled water, etc). • Maintenance of lab equipment to confirm efficient functionality, while having kept track of what required replacement or repair. • Examination and updating of the inventory of incoming chemicals and general inventory using the most current inventory template made available for use in Microsoft Excel. • Waste management and disposal for all chemistry teaching labs. • Organization of MSDS files and packing slips for all incoming chemicals based upon the date obtained. • During the summer, inventory was to be taken of all chemicals, dry goods, and equipment. All master lists were to be checked over and corrected to reflect accuracy in stock quantities, with notes being made about ordering what was deemed necessary for the upcoming year. Equipment was evaluated for wear-and-tear and if replacement/repair was necessary. Old specimens/chemicals were to be disposed of appropriately.

The job entailed attending class when scheduled to meet, taking detailed but legible notes (by hand or on a computer), and having those notes submitted or copied to be made available to the student who had requested them. Any additional notes from recitations were also copied and sent to the student.
