Community Development Manager
-
Sep 2018 - Mar 2019
- YGAM is a charity that seeks to inform, educate and safeguard young people about the risks of problem gambling. - My role as Community Development Manager was to increase the reach of YGAM within the Queen Mary University of London campus and its surrounding communities. - I worked closely with the YGAM team and the SU to spread the word in a number of ways. I controlled the social media platforms and organised various events as part of my role. - I developed the concept of 'No Phones on Campus Day'. By establishing a relationship with phone-free -space company 'Yondr', I organised an ambitious event that saw a large number of students go without their phone for the day. This at once spread awareness for the charity and positively encouraged digital resilience. - I worked within local schools, attending primary schools to give assemblies and classroom workshops, to talk about problem gaming, and digital resiliency.
