John Vanderveen
Meigan is a rare talent. I have worked as a designer in organizations big and small and taught design students in University settings. Among the many I have worked with Meigan stands out. She is bright, hard working and talented. Her value became even more obvious to me after we were done working together, remembering her effort, eagerness to learn and ability to excel quickly. Meigan balances professionalism with fun and energy and is an invaluable asset to any team. I would have no hesitation recommending her for just about any job.

I work on a hybrid centralized-embedded UX team where I am responsible for both the company’s UX maturity and two early-stage product areas focused on creating new growth opportunities for the business while delivering value to both our users and customers. While my role flexes in scope, the following are key aspects that I am regularly involved in:• Proactively generating research roadmaps that inform product and engineering strategy decisions.• Leading the planning, execution, analysis, and synthesis of generative and evaluative user research studies.• Acting as the “glue” between teams across the organization to ensure alignment, avoid duplication of efforts, and assess business risk of new ideas. • Mentoring new to CoverMyMeds and new to UX colleagues.• Collaborating with the UX team to improve the company’s overall UX maturity and process (e.g., research repository, onboarding materials, stakeholder buy-in and education).I am a continuous learner and most recently have completed the "Being a UX Leader: Essential Skills for Any UX Practitioner" Nielsen Norman Group course. I plan to gain a full UX certification from NN/g as time and finances allow.

• Supported market research projects for a large biopharmaceutical client. Scope primarily covered two areas: informing contracting strategies with payers and partnering with their innovation team to assess viability of new drugs. • One of my primary month-over-month projects was focused on the commercialization strategy of a pipeline asset. This involved market research, project management, stakeholder alignment, and the creation of cohesive value messaging across their provider, patient, and payer groups.• Co-led the user research, epidemiology research, and product development of the practice's first product, MillimanDNA, that helped payers understand and calculate the risk of their covered members being eligible for gene and cell therapies.• Managed timelines, resources, and staffing needed for a variety of projects to meet timelines set by clients. • Mentored other associates and interns in qualitative research techniques.
