Project Manager
-
Dec 2015 - Nov 2016
My main responsibilities as Project Manager included managing the concrete and soils laboratory, training new technicians and reviewing/editing field reports. I was also the Lead Inspector on most of our projects where I had the same field responsibilities I had as an intern with the addition of more technical inspections, like observing the installation of deep foundations. I have worked on projects of all sizes and types around the upstate of South Carolina, like Clemson University's $212,000,000 new student community.

Intern
-
Apr 2015 - Dec 2015
My primary responsibilities during my time as an intern were performing concrete, soils, and masonry field inspections. This involved interpreting project plans and specifications, visually observing the placement of construction materials (reinforcing steel, soil backfill, etc.) and performing relevant tests according to ACI and ASTM standards (compaction testing, concrete/grout testing, etc.).I was also responsible for carrying out majority of the concrete and soils laboratory testing. This primarily involved performing compression strength tests and analyzing the results for concrete cylinders, grout prisms and mortar cubes. On the soils side, I performed both Standard and Modified Proctors according to ASTM standards in order to determine maximum dry density and optimum moisture content of soils being used as backfill on various sites. I also classified soil test boring samples for the purposes of geotechnical site investigations and helped prepare the geotechnical reports.
