Analysis of the orientation control of a quadcopter. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become very popular both inside and outside the ICT sector. Multi-rotor UAVs have great potential in both civil and military applications. Of these UAVs the most popular are quadcopters and it is a challenge to maintain their steady state or a desired attitude due to their properties. In this work, a PID feedback control is proposed to stabilize the orientation of a quadcopter despite perturbations in the ROLL and PITCH angles. Parameters for these controllers are obtained, demonstrating from simulations that they are efficient both in servo and regulation. In addition, the design of a 3-axis gyroscopic platform for the analysis, synthesis and testing of control algorithms for multi-rotor UAVs is proposed, culminating with the assembly and calibration of a 250mm wingspan drone. Implementation of a satellite communications and test device. SpaceWire network technology is intended to be used for communication onboard spacecraft. It has been designed to connect sensors, processing units, memory devices and different onboard systems. The objective of this study is to implement an FPGA-based device, specifically using the AVNET Ultra96-V2 development board, that is capable of sending and receiving data using the SpaceWire communications protocol. It describes the key features of SpaceWire and verifies that the implemented SpaceWire transmitter and receiver are working properly using the SpaceWire Link Analyser Mk3 development tool, a SpaceWire link analyzer from Star-Dundee that allows to monitor the traffic over a SpaceWire network. The result is a device suitable for testing and validation of a SpaceWire communications bus, which follows the ESA ECCS-E50-12A standard. Show less
