Work focusing on application of the bioCNG in the diesel engine with dual-fuel mode. It included computational study for the intake manifold optimization as well as the experimental analysis of dual-fuel diesel engine for the vibration and performance. Thesis Title: Investigation of the Mixing Characteristics of BioCNG and Air without and with the Presence of Engine Vibration at the Intake Manifold of Dual-Fuel Diesel Engine. • The computaional work on the design optimization of the intake manifold of the single cylinder engine is performed based on the variations in port length, port-injector diameter and manifold curvature. • The optimized design of the manifold delivered about 98.33% of homogeneity in case of 80% of replacement of the diesel with bioCNG. • The experimental study showed that the engine vibration in dual-fuel mode is reduced about 60%, as compared to diesel mode. It further delivered the reduction in fuel consumption and NOX emission, at the cost of slight decrease in the thermal efficiency at 24.5%. • The application of the experimental vibration on the computational domain of the intake manifold produced the improved flow features inside the manifold.
