Joel was an outstanding member of a second level IT support team I managed for a mid-sized Midwestern bank for a number of years. Joel is an excellent troubleshooter and possesses the most important skill in the IT arsenal - becoming a situational expert as needed, and on the fly, to solve any problem that lands in his lap. Joel is effective, personable, and produces excellent project results as a team member or leader. It's been a while since we've interacted professionally, but I'm certain his skill set has done nothing but advance and grow since we worked together, and I would recommend him for any role in the IT arena.
