My job was to create a videos that would educate the public on how different specimen samples are obtained and processed through each department.During the time spent at Rochester General, I worked with six different departments, hematology, histology, blood bank, microbiology, clinical chemistry and cytology. This involved time management and the daily scheduling of different department processes to be captured. In addition to the production of videos, I was also asked to create flyer temples that could be changed and mailed out to people living in the Rochester area. I visited and photographed 13 different patient drawing stations affiliated with Rochester General Hospital. These images were then used to advertise blood collection locations in and around Rochester, NY. I also created small maps that identified the different laboratory locations on the back of each flyer. I enjoyed working with all the medical professionals who dedicated their time and took part in the production of each video. Shortly after my internship had ended, Beth Schroeder asked if I would be interested in creating two more short videos for the ambulatory division at Rochester General Hospital. I agreed to produce the two videos and I am currently working with Dialysis, Radiology and Physician therapy.
