I have known Nayan since Spring 2021. Nayan was a student in my Network Security class in Spring 2021 and worked for me as a grader for my Computer Networks course in Fall 2022. Through completed coursework, Nayan demonstrated the ability to write Python scripts necessary to launch and detect basic network security threats, including automated phishing attacks and basic penetration testing. I have worked with many students, but I was most impressed by Nayan's determination to work hard to really understand the subject matter in class. It was clear that while Nayan valued high performance in class, he was most concerned with really learning the technical material. This was demonstrated through his interest in tackling side-projects, engaging in extracurricular technical writing, and his willingness to ask thoughtful questions when he felt he needed to clarify his understanding.
