I was a full-time legal assistant who supported four attorneys in litigation, trademark, real estate, and employment law. My daily tasks included monitoring attorney's calendars for major deadlines, organizing trademark documents in paper and electronic filing systems, and assisting attorneys on various projects. Some of these projects included preparing an attorney for a court hearing and drafting essential legal documents and correspondence. I left this role at the end of February when I relocated to Edmonton.

Business Immigration Temporary Project Assistant

I was hired as a full-time legal project assistant for a short-term contract position during U.S. immigration's busiest season, H-1B Cap Season. The immigration team had six members and over 75 clients, so each member was critical in ensuring all client H-1B petitions were ready by the filing deadline. Throughout the season, I obtained and reviewed client documents, filled out forms, and then organized the physical file before sending it to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Business Immigration Legal Research Intern

I found this role as a full-time legal research intern at a corporate immigration law firm through an international internship program. I worked closely with the law firm's partner, assisting him in various research projects, including the migration crisis, Schengen's future, and creating more vital Israeli immigration legislation. I also had the opportunity to co-author an article published in "American Immigration Lawyers Association" and contribute to a report published in "Dual Citizenship Report."

As a communication major, I had to complete a ten-hour per week internship - I did so at a public relations firm as an account executive. I worked with clients to realize their vision of what they wanted for their social media campaigns. I created a "Wellness Wednesday" and "Feel Good Friday" campaign for a client on Facebook - and it is still in use. Furthermore, I drafted press materials, including news releases, media alerts, and pitch letters. Criminal Defense Legal Intern

I completed this internship for college credit. I had to get permission from the Dean of Students and my faculty advisor to do this internship instead of taking another course. I shadowed an attorney to court every Tuesday and Thursday, joining in on client meetings and court hearings. Afterward, the attorney and I would have lengthy discussions to encourage a full understanding of criminal law. I assisted in editing a clemency request letter, organizing evidence for trial on a blackmail case, and creating a social media presence for the firm.

Resident Assistant

As a resident assistant, I was responsible for the welfare of over 20 upper-class dormitory residents in my residence hall. I initiated contact with the residents through individual and group meetings, electronic communication, and the distribution of fliers and memos. I created, planned, and implemented programs for residents to enjoy on a weekly and monthly basis. In addition to these responsibilities, I had to handle unique situations, like act as a mediator in roommate disputes, respond to dormitory emergencies, conduct wellness checks, and address violations of dormitory policies.
