• Under direction of Dr. Qiu, I conducted experiments showing how much DNA precipitates out when combined with various levels of Kanamycin, Sodium Chloride (NaCl), and Spermine. I identified the electrostatic relationship, determined molecular proximity through x-ray diffraction, observed the nano structure of DNA molecules using polarizing microscopy, and observed the competitive behavior of the molecules when combined with a poly ethaline glycol (PEG) solution. • Learned to work with custom built x-ray diffraction, polarizing microscopy, nanospectrophotometer, and PEG solutions.
