For the span of my school counseling Internship, I provided individual, crisis, group, and in-class direct services to Fifth—Eighth Grade students at the middle school, by providing individual, group, and in- class services to students spanning the academic, personal/social, and career realms. • Assumed own caseload of students, for individual counseling and group services (six total), for students: ‘Changing Families’ Group; ‘Friendship’ Group; ‘Study Skills & Organization’ Group’; and an ‘Anger Management’ Group • Delivered Direct, In-Class lessons on: Conflict Resolution; Conquering Test Anxiety; Depression; Developing Friendships/Interpersonal Skills; Employability Skills; Goal-Setting Processes; Managing Feelings and Emotions; Personal Hygiene; Post-Secondary Career Options; Sleep Hygiene; Stress Management; Study Skills; and Time Management • Led three In-Class, Direct Educational Units (five weeks total for each group) on Bullying Prevention, to rotating 7th Grade Specials classes • Created Behavior Achievement contracts for individual students • Created School Counseling Needs Assessments forms (for teacher feedback on under- utilized/under-served needs and services for students) • Utilized individualized Person-Centered; Cognitive-Behavioral; Solutions-Focused; and Play Therapy approaches to counseling • Assisted with Career Cruising curriculum and EDP development (along with Career Day activities for 7th and 8th Grade students) • Worked through protocols and procedures to help students coping with issues of self-harm; member of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) team, that coordinated additional tiers and levels of support and resources for individual students Show less
