Not Your Average Basketball Camp, founded by Ryan Lee and Curtis Takimoto, was designed to bring the joys of basketball to the special needs community. Our focus is to provide a fun but safe environment to children with special needs to explore basketball but also to make new friends. Pathways in Education is a non-profit education company that works with schools from around the country to provide experiential learning through our programming. The programs range from community service trips, college tours, community gardens, tour of Washington D.C., international trips (Italy & Cuba) as well as others designed to help students better understand the world around them.Pathways Founders have dedicated their lives to helping at-risk students. Simply put, we are singularly focused on teenagers who are in danger of dropping out of school through our education model and other student programs.Our experience has shown it is possible to turn these lives around. Our mission is critical: teenagers who drop out of school are also highly likely to drop out of society, which can hardly afford the poverty, unemployment, crime, suicide, drug abuse, teen pregnancy and other ills that often shadow dropouts.
