Not only did I gain a more intellectual grasp of what it was like to become a working student while fulfilling my graduate requirements, but I also gained conceptual information that was applicable to my studies.

In addition to developing each of those skills I was able to grasp the intricate cycle of working with other offices in a higher education setting to complete a task at hand. This allowed me to utilize my communication skills and develop an even deeper understanding of the importance of policies and procedures.

  This grant was awarded to Fairmont State University on behalf of the WV Division of Tobacco Prevention under the Against Tobacco Initiative. In representation Fairmont State created the Tobacco Free Falcons as the student organization. As the leader it was my duty to write a grant proposal. The grant was approved by the Sponsored Grants Accounting Office after being presented to the Chief Financial Officer at Fairmont State University. The grant was awarded and utilized on campus to participate in tobacco matters campus wide that led to a Tobacco-Free Campus in 2016.
