The 3 primary skills have been obtained during the courses: Descriptive Statistics: In descriptive statistics, numerical data is analyzed by reorganizing the data into appealing visual representations for the initial comparison of subsets, before advanced statistical tests are applied. Optimization: In optimization, the goal is to create a model and use Excel to find the minimum or maximum value for one or more decision variables, such as determining the quantity that produces the lowest cost (EOQ). Risk Analysis: In risk analysis, calculations are based on uncertain outcomes, and simulations are used to forecast potential outcomes. 2. Finance and Economics for International Supply Chains: This course is divided into two main parts: Economics and Statistics and Finance. The Economics part covers the following topics: The shipping markets: an overview of the different types of shipping markets and their interrelation. The Statistics and Finance part cover the following topics: Statistics: a comprehensive overview of measurement scales, central tendency measures, dispersion, normality, and various statistical tests such as the chi-square test, T-test, ANOVA, Mann Whitney U test, and Kruskal Wallis test. Finance: an in-depth examination of financial econometrics, financial markets, exchange rates, forecasting, and hedging. Topics covered include inflation, deflation, stagflation, cryptocurrency, fiat currency, bitcoin mining, blockchain, and financial risk management.
