Dan Foster represents a combination of the best of leadership and the best of humanity. I have had a great privilege to work with Dan as my boss for over four years. I can say with most certainty that Dan is one of the finest bosses and one of the finest people I have ever encountered. Dan’s leadership begins with resolve and clarity about desirable results, followed by his ability to strategize and maneuver along the most efficient paths in spite of any obstacles. Dan is organized to the last detail; he distributes work to accommodate employees’ professional passions and interests; and we, Dan’s employees, rely upon his clearly communicated and manageable work requirements. Dan draws the best out of everyone. He has an unmatched ability to seek and find what motivates employees, which compels them to commit and employ their utmost for the common goal. We, Dan’s employees, consistently feel valued and treated with dignity, as we evolve professionally under his guidance. I have seen Dan deal with serious work challenges, such as having too few people to complete a major project in an insufficient time. However challenged, Dan somehow always succeeds in devising a plan and rallying everyone around in such a way that all of us willingly contribute to a successful completion, while feeling empowered along the way. Dan is truly one of the best leaders and visionaries one might wish for, and I have been deeply honored to work with Dan Foster as my boss.

Dan is an absolutely brilliant educator. As the Course Manager for the Human Intelligence Warrant Officer Basic Course Dan developed new instructional material to better prepare students to fulfill their new roles in the Army. Not only is he a superb training developer, Dan’s energy and enthusiasm as an instructor ensures that students remain engaged throughout the class. I would recommend Dan for any job involving course development or instruction; he is a superior teacher.
