Promoted to take over a struggling salon with a reputation of lackluster performance. In my second full month as director after the pandemic closure, we went from one of the lowest ranking corporate salons to #11 in the company (out of ~500 locations) in spite of being in the midst of training an entirely new staff and adapting to radically new policies and procedures. I successfully maintained a positive performance rating throughout my time with the salon, ensuring a smooth transition as I passed the baton during my last two weeks.The day-to-day grind of this position focused on ensuring client satisfaction above all else by focusing on the overall experience, resolving concerns, suggesting products through proven sales techniques, and converting new relationships into repeat business. In order to accomplish this ultimate goal, coaching my team and delivering immediate feedback was a requirement that I incorporated into my management style - through encouraging competition, my staff consistently exceeded sales goals. Operationally, it was necessary to regulate inventory control by conducting weekly inventory counts and daily "spot checks", all the while mandating salon cleanliness through standardized sanitation procedures.
