After a career in policing, I did a complete mid-life pivot and forged a successful career in the corporate world, before becoming a specialist career and confidence coach for emergency service leavers of all ranks and levels of service. I completed my service in full in various roles, including Response, CID, Territorial Support Group and Dog Handler. As a Sergeant, I led many diverse teams, across Response, Community Policing, Armed Policing and Head of Operational Training. Having known nothing else from the age of 18, I was so worried about my future, but transitioned from Policing into Project Management, undertaking a number of role related qualifications and graduating for the first time at 53, having left school with 4 ‘U’s! After leaving policing in early 2015, I rose through the corporate ranks to become a Senior Change and Modern Workplace Consultant in IT, working for and alongside industry giants like ASOS, Microsoft and Oracle and many consultancies. Having held numerous six-figure, high-profile roles and the hiring manager for many others, I completely understand your fears, challenges and concerns and know exactly what's required in the current job market. Blue Light Leavers has given me back my sense of purpose, and I feel so privileged to be able to help support and guide people I've never even met. "Andy changed everything for me, I do not know where I would be without his help, guidance, knowledge, belief, advice. My fight came back, my sense of worth, my belief in me, strength to take charge of my life. There will never be enough words to thank Andy for all he did for me. He changed everything when that seemed utterly impossible. I had lived with all this trauma for a year, and he came along and changed everything. He gave up his time, he’s passionate about helping others and just so genuine, and an utterly amazing human. The best. I will forever be thankful and so will my family. They got me back and that’s thanks to him. " Show less
