Comparative Analysis of Wind Atlases: Resource assessment of forested sites for wind power development. For wind power projects in the greenfield phase, climatology data exploration can be demanding and complex. For this reason, datasets that shed light on preliminary WRA insights are beneficial for effective wind power development. Several of these publicly available datasets are in the form of wind atlases. Collaborating with Zephyr, the thesis employs a comparative study on different wind atlases to conclude the general behaviour and accuracy of wind resource assessments in multiple onshore sites. The major types of wind atlases analyzed include Global Wind Atlas (GWA), New European Wind Atlas (NEWA), and Swedish Wind Atlas (SWA) incorporating the MIUU model developed by Uppsala University.
