Mikki is one of those rare individuals that helps all those around her do better work. She is both very professional and personable. Working with her I always had a sense of a strong supervisor and partner who always understood the dynamics of the team and the task at hand. I have watched her on many projects make no excuses and when she puts her sights on a task she applies a great deal of creativity, drive and ingenuity to accomplish the goal. Mikki just get things done.

Development of a book of essays and talks. We navigate our lives through storylines. Our storylines shift all the time, but we can get into a groove that makes us think there is one “right” ending – one goal – one truth. The goal of Attainable We is to help us start to see things from new perspectives to help us get “unstuck.” “If we proactively start with the notion that our universe is fundamentally connected, then maybe the ways we divide ourselves up politically, economically and socially will begin to seem so small and inconsequential that it no longer makes sense to fixate on them.” — “On Visibility and Fragmentation,” talk given July 2016 Show less

My communications consulting company developed multimedia strategies and tools for enhancing online and offline connections that enliven and empower people to evolve individually and collectively. Books, websites, talks, articles. I am a writer and facilitator of “conscious conversations.” I believe that improving the thought that goes into our online, group and face-to-face communication — genuine (not glib), personalized (not generic), vulnerable (not packaged) — is what inspires us to evolve into what we can be. I provide resources for single women who proactively pursue motherhood. My podcast series, choicemoms.org website, 400 blog posts, 2,000-member discussion boards and 25-plus workshops stemmed from my 2005 self-published book "Choosing Single Motherhood: The Thinking Woman's Guide." Rights to the award-winning book were won by Houghton-Mifflin/Harcourt in a six-company bidding war and the book was re-published in 2007. I create e-guides for single women who choose motherhood as well as families created by donor insemination and adoption. Show less

I revamped the church's website and newsletter, created its social media options, and produced several videos (including this one about marriage equality: http://youtu.be/PuDitqxZsxg). I led the church's archives team, and did work on a book and history section of the website that won the Unitarian Universalist Association Heritage Award prize. I co-created a 170-page book for the First Universalist Church of Minneapolis about its 150 years of history. I created 25 cells of information covering 100 years of Presidential campaign reporting in the early stages of The New York Times Online division. Wrote all campaign summaries and did research for the archival text, photos and audiovisual content. [See the finished product at www.nytimes.com/learning/ general/specials/elections/] Did writing for “This Day in History” biographies. Prior to that I worked on a long-term projecting overseeing the editorial content for a CD-ROM about the Vietnam War that included more than 1,000 articles, Pentagon Paper documents, biographies, maps, CBS footage, a chronology and news photos. Personally made all hyperlink decisions. Show less
