My time so far at Chabaso, and its sister business Atticus, has taught me the importance of a simple strategy that's trusted throughout the organization, and that results in a set of decision-making tools so teams can easily decide what to do and what not do so to steer the bulky ship that is a manufacturing organization in the right direction.I grew up eating Chabaso bread and visiting Atticus. It's so cool to now have the opportunity to build upon the foundations of these brands, formalize their marketing & sales strategies and operations, and help further develop them into forces for good while navigating the endless reality roadblocks. Among many exciting projects, I'm managing our in-progress B Corp certification for Chabaso and Atticus, and the CT Food Launchpad program at Atticus that is helping food entrepreneurs from underserved groups commercialize their products and gain shelf space at Connecticut grocers. Junzi was an amazingly tough and valuable experience in building a food brand from scratch, witnessing the magic of momentum and a loyal fanbase, and learning fast from failure. I was the second employee at Junzi and worked alongside a small talented team while Junzi was on fellowship in the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (now Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale), which itself was a valuable learning experience as we worked alongside other ambitious startups and the program's advisor team. The team opened the first Junzi Kitchen location on Yale's campus a year after I joined in the fall of 2015. From there we opened our second location at Columbia University in NYC, and then third location near NYU in Bryant Park. As the brand expanded through New York, I increasingly felt pulled to come back closer to my family in New Haven, and left my position right before the third Junzi location opened. I'm honored to still be close with the Junzi team and root them on as they reimagine Chinese food in America. Show less

At Response I got a sense for managing digital marketing campaigns for companies of a variety of industries and sizes. It became clear to me that social media and other digital marketing methods form just a fraction of a company's successful marketing portfolio, and I became increasingly interested in moving from an agency environment to being client-side and understanding the larger picture of how to build a brand and customer base. This position also sparked my love for the New Haven region and good pizza. Show less
