I managed Roetzel & Andress' Columbus office where I worked within a myriad of roles and responsibilities. Primarily, I served as an intermediary between the legal assistants/paralegals and their attorney assignments and facilitated efficient and timely results for their clients. I managed our office's file retention and closing policies so that we could achieve our goal of becoming a paper-less law firm by the end of 2022. Lastly, I provided legal assistant work for attorneys with offsite staff and ensure that office operations were running seamlessly. Show less

Dec 2018 - Mar 2021
I transitioned to the Legal Division to gain exposure to the legal side of the Bureau. I was responsible for daily reporting of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) hearings. I researched and compiled data regarding lumbar fusion cases and determinations within Ohio’s Workers’ Compensation System and facilitated discussions with medical staff on ensuring organic, individualized reporting of patient screening and adherence to Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) of BWC-affiliated doctors. Additionally, I evaluated payment of death claim cases to next-of-kin and establish monetary monitoring. Show less

I worked with Ohio BWC inpatient and outpatient teams to monitor monthly Health-Based Assessment and Intervention (HBAI) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Reports for reimbursement coding. Notably, I calculated approximately $10 million in inappropriate -59 modifier billing from 2016 to 2018 and further detailed inappropriate coding usage from BWC-affiliated healthcare providers.

I worked within the Center for Religious Studies for the American Religious Sounds Project (ARSP) - a collaborative effort between Ohio State and Michigan State to offer a resource for interpreting the diversity of American religious life with an emphasis on the sonic aspects of cultures and religious practice. I assisted by attending religious events across the central Ohio area and producing field recordings and oral interviews of religious practitioners. Further, I assisted in the construction of a digital platform that integrates sound, images, and text to offer new insights into the complex dynamics of American religious pluralism. Show less

May 2017 - Aug 2017
Within my time at the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, I provided metadata analyses from Franklin County Sheriff's Office and Franklin County's Shelter Board to evaluate any trends or correlations between the jail system and shelter board system. Notably, I determined that permanent bans incurred onto shelter system users led to a subsequent 50% incarceration rate within the Franklin County jail system. I calculated approximately $1.2 million of county expenses resulting from banned shelter users and assisted in proposed policy responses within Franklin County’s homeless shelters to cease permanent bans from the system indefinitely.
