I worked with Josh at Widerfunnel, myself as a project coordinator and Josh a developer, for just under a year. We collaborated daily on pre and post development briefs, QA issues and live bugs. Josh did a great job of communicating, keeping me up to date on progress and explaining his approach to the project. When needed, Josh was happy to jump onto a client call to provide technical assistance. Josh is a skilled developer, always challenging himself and furthering his skills. He has great attention to detail; he takes time to complete projects properly, always with the client’s best interest in mind. Josh is a pleasure to work with; he’s very personable and an invaluable team member.

Josh and I worked together for a year and a half as front-end developers at Widerfunnel. Josh quickly became a central member of the office atmosphere, building friendships across the company. I had the pleasure of working closely with Josh as part of the development team. I was able to assist him in getting up to speed on our internal development process as I had joined the team a few months before. To the benefit of us both very quickly the learning exchange became a valuable back and forth experience. Josh is an inclusive and collaborative developer. I witnessed Josh provide valuable feedback throughout the development process including, code reviews, client work, internal projects, pair programming, and team meetings. Josh is a natural leader, articulately voicing his ideas, asking the right questions and helping the whole team come to more robust decisions on issues. His energy and outlook are a valuable and necessary addition to any healthy thriving team.

My role at Widerfunnel revolved around building A/B tests for corporate to enterprise clients using a combination of custom code and experimentation-specific tools like Optimizely, VWO and Google Optimize. I took strategies that we developed and designed in-house and turned them into real experiments that thousands of users interacted with daily. Experiments had to be seamlessly integrated into our clients' websites, matching their responsiveness, accessibility standards, and overall functionality and aesthetics. The tech stack for this role was primarily ES6+ Javascript, jQuery, SCSS and EJS, along with any other libraries or tools that were required for specific challenges.

As in-house developer for Omnifilm Entertainment I worked specifically with Namaste TV, maintaining their website and developing new pages and services as required. My day-to-day work involved building and maintaining Namaste TV's custom Shopify theme, creating Mailchimp templates for marketing campaigns, and monitoring e-commerce operations. While I was the only in-house developer at Omnifilm, I had occasional mentorship from a senior developer when needed for project planning and guidance.
