As a Regional Service Engineer (RSE) for General Motors in Arizona and New Mexico, one of Lyle's key responsibilities was dealing with customers that dealers were unable to please and vehicles that dealers were unable to repair properly. I had opportunities to work with Lyle on several of these problems either with one vehicle or a large population of vehicles that were not meeting customer expectations. Lyle always remained focused on resolving these situations in a manner that was equitable to the customer and efficient for the company. In resolving these difficult problems, Lyle demonstrated a very impressive breadth of knowledge on the function of and troubleshooting on from bumper to bumper on systems on every make and model of General Motors product. As Lyle jumped into new problems, he quickly developed a depth of knowledge on a specific vehicle model or system. In addition to his technical knowledge, Lyle demonstrated excellent organizational, communication and time management skills along with an ability to formally and informally train technicians and co-workers. In his role as an RSE, Lyle was an asset to General Motors increasing customer satisfaction and saving the corporation substantial sums of money on vehicle re-purchases or unnecessary repairs. I would definitely recommend Lyle for positions requiring skills in dealing with difficult people, troubleshooting technical problems, teaching technical material, organization or communication.
