I have known Dan for many years, all of them very entertaining. Dan is very knowledgeable, well spoken, detail oriented, and has the ability to interact with all levels of the industry.

Mark Geeves

Dan is the one of most talented individuals in our industry. He has great technical knowledge but nothing surpasses his passion for helping people.

My primary responsibility is to provide sales support and technical support to Color Management Group Certified Consultants and Certified Resellers. I also have responsibility for maintaining our online store, blog, Facebook page and LinkedIn Group (which I created and has now exceeded 5,500 members). I am involved with most, if not all, marketing efforts both in print and via the internet including product bundles, special offers, promotions, trade show graphics/displays and the company website. I am liaison to all of our Consultant and Reseller Members worldwide. I work directly with our members in pre-sales, fulfillment, and technical support. I evaluate all of the emerging technologies, many of which end up in our distribution portfolio. I was previously authorized by GMG to answer their technical support hotline and by EFI to conduct certified technical training classes for other technicians. And, I've been a Certified G7 Expert for 10 years, since the very first class at Rex3 in February, 2006. Consulting, webinars and demonstrations, as well as on-site and remote installations, color services and training are the core of my position. Plus, I'm an avid photographer and artist, continually feeding my creative appetite through digital imaging. You could say I'm the Jack Of All Shades! ;)

    • Owner
      • Apr 1999 - Jan 2011

As owner for ColorGeek, Inc. I wore all hats. Primarily I was busy installing and training hardware and software products related to color management in prepress, packaging and the graphic arts. I also handled all of the sales and consulting, advertising and marketing, customer service, accounts payable and receivable, and technical support. That is why my official title was Jack Of All Shades! It was very rewarding to have been able to leave a great job, take this huge risk and have it all work out well, and I'm very proud of what I was able to accomplish. In the end, after over 10 years, the economy and a divorce forced me to seek full time employment and health benefits elsewhere.

    • Color Specialist
      • 1994 - 2000

GER was a very large graphic arts reseller with 24 branches in 19 states. I was the only color specialist on staff from 1995 to 2000 and covered our entire territory installing high-end scanners and proofing systems and training in the related software applications. I ran a separate training facility for several years where I was responsible for setup and maintenance of all workstations and IT functions. I wound up doing 1000's of hours of classroom training on desktop applications like Quark Xpress, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop over those several years. I also found all of the new color technology like ICC software, RIP software, and inkjet printers that GER would sell.

Education

  • Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts
    Associate, Graphic Design
    1991 - 1993
