I supervised Mr. Roy at First American Title Co. NM for a number of years. Both his work ethic and his talents were valuable to us. His intelligence and ability to apply it to problems along with his talent for using new ideas to resolve old problems always impressed me.

Nick is an intelligent, thorough, responsible engineer who simultaneously incorporates the big picture and important details into all his work. From writing requirements to doing technical investigations for customer, I can trust Nick to consistently and fully address the work presented to him. Nick is also not afraid to ask questions when something doesn't make sense, or when he sees opportunities for improvement.

As part of the International & Service Solutions organization, I provided technical support to Rockwell Collins' worldwide network of service centers for both Commercial and Government Systems products. I assisted the service centers with troubleshooting and repair of ATE (Automated Test Equipment), manual test benches, other test equipment, and problematic units. I contributed to the technical accuracy of Rockwell Collins’ component maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins, and engineering documentation. I led a pilot project to use thermal imaging cameras to improve the troubleshooting and repair of circuit cards. I mitigated RF and high voltage hazards. I applied my technical expertise to solve complex problems and overcome difficult challenges. Maintained a multi-million-dollar pool of electronics test equipment. Authored test equipment calibration policies and procedures. Handled technical data IAW US ITAR and EAR regulations. Held a secret security clearance. Served as FAA certificated repairman.

As an electrical engineer for SAIC (now Leidos) I supported the US Navy's depot maintenance stand-up effort for the EA-18G's advanced airborne electronics. I led the project to implement a systems integration laboratory bench station. Support tasks include project planning and scheduling, negotiation and acquisition of equipment and contractor support services, technical data review, root cause analysis, demand and capacity modeling, maintenance planning, hazard analysis and creation and review of standard operating procedures. I also supported a battery engineering effort analyzing performance data of very large battery arrays. I created software in Python to automating the processing and display of battery health information. I also supported a government custom aircraft electronics integration project featuring an on-board Ethernet based network, with multiple sensor and data-link systems. Sensors included EO imaging, SAR, radio direction-finding receivers, SATCOM and cellular (CDMA/GSM) intercepts.

As a systems engineer I work closely with our customers as part of a cross functional team responsible for integrating avionics for the CH-47 platform to provide optimal solutions for their unique mission requirements. In my position I apply systems engineering fundamentals including requirements capture, decomposition, allocation, validation, verification and traceability. I manage requirements within a change control process. I consider system architecture, design boundaries, system/subsystem integration and design trades. I am responsible for generating and presenting technical briefs, white papers, trade studies, design approach reviews and bid/proposal artifacts for aircraft level systems. Prior to August 2009 I supported Link-16 data link engineering as a systems engineer. I led the systems engineering for the design, manufacture and fielding of Link-16 support equipment known as the Mobile Integration & Test Environment (MITE) for the MIDS LVT. Design elements I have been responsible for include human factors, safety, mechanical, EMI, environmental (thermal, vibration/shock), electrical and spectrum compliance. I performed thermal and vibration testing, and failure analysis for the URC-138 Link-16 terminal. I am familiar with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.

Designed and provided engineering support for 802.11 and proprietary 900MHz WLANs throughout rail yards and for the dispatcher radio network, a mission critical system providing touch-screen based operator access to thousands of VHF base station radios necessary for the safe movement of trains. I designed the radio system changes to accomplish the realignment of dispatcher territories of the Pacific coast region. Assisted in the deployment and support of a network of about 200 Windows PCs from the time of the transition from Novell to the time when support throughout the company was centralized nationwide. I developed a method of 'Ghosting' standard load-sets to greatly simplify configuration management, and the use of PC Anywhere for remote desktop support. I provided front line technical support to our users and supported back office operations.
