I am designated as Lab Engineer in Mechanical Workshop. I have the responsibility to conduct the labs of “Engineering Drawing and Graphics” and “Workshop Practice” for students of 1st and 2nd semester respectively. Responsibilities during Engineering Drawing and Graphics Lab: • To explain engineering graphics fundamentals and assist the students to develop the understanding of the engineering graphics principles, theories, conventions, and standards. • To help them constructing 2D engineering drawings of mechanical parts and machine components such as orthographic projections, isometric views, and sectional views, manually and in AutoCAD 2015. • To supervise and grade their laboratory assignments, quizzes, and the final exam. Responsibilities during Workshop Practice: • Explanation of theoretical aspects and demonstration of various operations on Lathe Machine, Milling Machine and Welding techniques (i.e. SMAW, GMAW, TIG, and Spot). • To grade the workpiece shaped by the students, supervision of their semester projects and to conduct their final viva.

Lab Experience: Was Involved in the development of Metallography, Chemical & Mechanical Testing Lab. Prepared SOPs and Safety procedures to achieve ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Currently, SGS Pakistan is using my developed SOPs in their Metallography and Mechanical Testing Labs. Mechanical Testing, Chemical Analysis and Metallography Lab: Responsibilities include: • To perform Tensile and Bend Testing of Metallic Products in accordance with ASTM 370 and ASTM E8. • To perform spectrometric analysis of Carbon Steel, Alloy Steel and Cast Iron, using SPECTROLAB OES ANALYZER in accordance with ASTM E415. • Sample preparation and interpretation of microstructures in accordance with ASTM E3 and ASTM E883. • Evaluation of Average Grain Size of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals according to ASTM E112. • Analysis of Depth of Decarburization of Steel samples according to ASTM E1077. Pipeline Integrity Management Services (PIMS): - Part of a team who performed External Corrosion Direct Assessment (ECDA) and Internal Corrosion Direct Assessment (ICDA) of 6 km Gas Gathering line of ø=10’’ at Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Kandhkot in December 2016. Carried out field surveys which include PCM, DCVG and CIPS. In-situ Metallography & Damage Mechanisms Analysis: - Part of a team who conducted inspection of Platforming Reactors through advance NDT and Metallography at BYCO (ORC-II) MKP Site in August 2016. Performed In-situ Metallography on reactors of material SA- 387 Grade 11 to detect HTHA. Analyzed and evaluate microstructures and microstructural anomalies. - Performed In Situ Metallography of Furnace Tubes of material P5 to determine any Damage Mechanism, during a Shutdown at BYCO petroleum Pakistan Limited in April 2016. - In Situ Metallography, and evaluation of microstructures of the following HRSG equipment and components, during Shutdown at K-Electric BQPS II. - In Situ Metallography of Secondary Reformer Burner Tubes of material UNS 08810 to assess for any Damage Mechanism.
