      I was part of a multidisciplinary team working on the project AEROPERF. We developed and optimized inhalation powders composed of engineered particles with adequate aerosolization properties for active pharmaceutical ingredients' deep and homogeneous pulmonary deposition. My tasks on the project included the physical characterization of the spray-dried powders and the study of powder agglomeration in order to achieve better flowability. Also, I performed experiments and numerical simulations on the behavior of air fluidized beds. The results allowed us to understand several physical mechanisms involved in this process used across several industries.
