I worked with Doug on the Axial Product team for almost two years. As a new Product Manager on the team, I was immediately impressed with Doug's deep knowledge of the industry, product and our customers. As an early employee at Axial, Doug had served the business in various capacities, finally deciding to use his vast knowledge to build a better product. Doug has a remarkable ability to tease apart a complex product, study each constituent piece and interaction, and then propose changes that provide a much improved user experience for the customers. He uses a good mix of quantitative methods as well as qualitative studies to reach his conclusions which he can then eloquently articulate to a diverse set of audiences. Doug was both of a mentor as well as a good friend and counsel to me (and still is!) and my respect for him was echoed by almost everyone else who had the privilege of working with him at some point. I would be delighted to work with him again.

Doug is an exceptional product manager and thinker. I had the pleasure of working with Doug for several years at Axial, both on projects where we collaborated as PM and Designer, and on projects where Doug was the PM on projects that a designer I managed worked on. Doug's focus on overall strategy, alignment to team or company goals, and ultimate attention to detail was always evident, and Doug didn't hesitate to roll up his sleeves and do whatever was necessary. In working alongside Doug, I learned a lot of my own product design and management skills and traits.
