My primary responsibility was to enhance the company's sanctions screening procedures and review alerts generated by the screening tool. To accomplish this, I conducted in-depth investigations of potential sanctions referrals from Gallagher's overseas service centres. This involved conducting open-source checks, creating or reviewing existing profiles to compare against potential sanctions matches, and cross-referencing open-source information against Gallagher's internal source systems. I then provided a clear rationale for each alert reviewed, dismissing or escalating alerts as necessary. Additionally, I collaborated with business divisions to investigate sanctions alerts and escalated potential sanctions matches to the Sanctions Screening Manager as required. I also supported the improvement of Gallagher's sanctions screening procedures, including testing requirements, and recorded and provided relevant management information to the Sanctions Screening Manager. As a Business Services Sanctions Administrator at Chaucer, I am responsible for daily monitoring of pre-bind sanctions workflows within the underwriting divisions. My duties include inputting relevant data into internal systems, which enables pre-bind sanctions checks to be sent to the Dow Jones API. I carefully review the results of these checks and notify underwriters or escalate to Compliance as needed.
