I’ve worked together with Gülçin in the women developer community Kadın Yazılımcı we set up. Gülçin has been a strong driver of our Kadın Yazılımcı community with her positive energy and her go-getter attitude from the very beginning on. When I gathered ten senior women developers, the only thing I could think of was writing blog posts in a common blog together. Short after that, she was the first person to give a talk as a member of the community and she continued to do so in multiple universities in several different cities. Thereby, she added a totally new dimension to our efforts to reach women software developer candidates in universities outside of Istanbul. She lead the organization of our first event organized on our own. Meanwhile she has not only become the sweetheart but a strong role model for many young women developers. She’s been a tremendous driving force and we miss her absence in Turkey.
