My dissertation, Disarticulated Bodies: Catalan Nationalism and Cultural Reconstruction, 1975–2017, examines political performances in the Catalan region from the end of the Francisco Franco dictatorship to the independence referendum, focusing on particular events that led to a (re)negotiation of what Catalan identity might mean. I reveal a dynamic relationships between political theatre, sports, and protests. This research project is built from archival research in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain, as well as extensive interviews with theatre makes and political activists. At Northwestern, I have taught Latinx Theatre (Spring 2021) and Theatre of Immigration (Spring 2019). I have also taught Northwestern's writing for theatre sequence (Winter, Spring 2018), using the tragedies of Federico García Lorca. I was a teaching assistant for Dr. Harvey Young's Introduction to Theatre (Fall 2015).
