My role as Project Developer with Windlab South Africa has developed the foundational knowledge and skills for project management, greenfield site identification and securement processes. Project management work included the procurement of early-stage environmental and grid studies as well as monitoring contractors; developing an understanding of the need for various levels of studies to manage project risks throughout the development process. Guiding 2 hour sea kayak tours part time, launching from Greenpoint and heading toward the V&A waterfront or Clifton depending upon weather conditions. Managing and caring for the safety and comfort of often large groups of clients in sometimes unpleasant conditions has provided further practise to remain calm and collected in times of stress or even danger. Quick decisions and actions on the water are crucial when dealing with the cold Atlantic, wind, swell and rocky shorelines, also this position has provided further customer relation experience.
