Led 42-person Stryker platoon employing over $15 million of equipment and maintaining readiness to deploy worldwide to support combat operations. Deployed to southern Afghanistan for 4 months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to bolster effectiveness of Afghan Army. • Planned and led 30+ combat missions in southern Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom; led to capture and destruction of over 50 Improvised Explosive Devices and contributed to drastic reduction in hostile acts towards US and Afghan military.• Effectively utilized multiple geospatial imaging systems to build more transparent enemy/civilian situation for commander; integrated information into combat mission planning; resulted in no team casualties for 4 months.• Planned and led team to execute partnered patrols with afghan counter parts to indoctrinate them to increase security in their own areas of operation; effectively increased security for over 200 civilians residing in southern Afghanistan and effectively reduced insurgent activity in area. • Planned and executed the tactical reduction and handover of a 200 man Company Outpost in 2 weeks; effectively utilized outside agencies and local supervised civilian contracts to construct fortified outpost suitable for the Afghan National Security Forces to continue operations after our exit from theatre.• Successfully lead 42 man Platoon through full training cycle from individual training to Company level Live Fire Exercise; developed junior Enlisted soldiers to 3 promotions to sergeant, and 2 Soldier of the Month awards.• Rated by commander as “best” platoon leader out of 3 in company; earned a Certificate of Achievement
