I've recently left the field and moved to the office where I'm more involved in Shelter Services such as adoptions and case management between our office and the local courts, including the preparation and service of subpeonas. Lost and found pet reporting takes a large portion of my time. I manage all incoming lost and found reports for Kalamazoo County and surrounding areas and co-moderate the Kalamazoo Area Lost Pets facebook page, which is a very active community page that helps to reunite lost pets with thier owners. I love media and graphic design, and have taken on the unofficial role of "Media Specialist" for our department including managing our website, YouTube, PetFinder and Facebook accounts, and handling other media as designated which includes flyers, handouts, infographics, and banners. In this position I'm responsible for any customer need or inquiry at the front counter, on the phone, or the internet.

Animal Control Officer

Enforce all local and State laws and ordinances as they pertain to Animal Welfare and Control as well as Public Health and Safety. This includes pickup of stray domestic animals, sick or injured wildlife removal and transportation, cruelty and animal fighting investigations, euthanasia, chemical capture and other duties.
