I have had the pleasure of working with John for years. His motivation makes him a wonderful team member. Through his extensive documentation and organization he has supported the University IT department's efforts in building an impressive knowledgebase. John's knowledge, experience, and professionalism have made him an integral asset to our organization. John has led or been part of several successful projects representing the service desk and the unversity's student population. I was John's manager for four years within the central IT department at Duke University. John was a tireless worker adept in process evaluation and improvement. Several of John's process improvement recommendations were implemented, increasing the efficiency of our customer service center and leading directly to higher customer satisfaction ratings. While processing a large volume of IT service requests, John also either led or was a key contributor to several highly visible, customer impacting projects. These included the evaluation, recommendation, and execution of cost effective solutions. John used a methodical and systematic approach to problem solving that not only produced superior results in the technical arena, but is also applicable to projects in the business environment.

John is one of the hardest workers I know. He thrives when having to power through a mountain of data and perform detailed analysis. He is a good researcher and is able to source and study various pieces of dense information to form basic assessments and positions about the information. He presents his opinions and findings really well but is willing to listen to alternate interpretations of the findings in a collaborative way. Based on my experience, he is ideally suited to be a market analyst. His effectiveness will be greatest when teamed with product managers and product marketers. His strengths in managing details will also make him well suited for product development project management.
