Dr Shanu is one of those people with whom you as a patient can connect easily. She creates a safe space for you which makes you open up and face your problems. Then step by step she guides you on how to handle specific issues with confidence and slowly builds your self esteem. A wonderful person who is eager to help and most of all understands the problem one is going through. Highle recommended from my side!

In 2013, I did an internship shadowing Shanu at Support Foundation and in her counselling practice as well. I was able to witness how dedicated Shanu is to the people she works and volunteers with- she really goes above and beyond for others and works hard to improve their well-being in whatever way she can. She is very professional and is skilled at connecting with people of all ages and from all walks of life. I really learned a lot from her. Personally, Shanu is a very kind, conscientious, and open-minded person. I am Canadian and had never been to India before. Shanu was so welcoming and supportive; she really helped me to adapt to New Delhi and to understand cultural differences. I am so grateful to Shanu for the wonderful experience I had in India!

Support Foundation was built with a single goal in mind, to shun the misconceptions about disability and help differently abled people lead respectful lives. It is a non-profit charitable trust formed by professionals from diverse fields who joined hands to work for the greater good of the society. Our community treats mental and physical disability as a societal stigma due to which disabled people find it difficult to live their daily lives as finding work is constant struggle. The aim of Support foundation is to make people aware of the challenges associated with disability and fight the discrimination within the society. We provide support to people seeking aid to make them become self-sufficient. Our other focus area is women empowerment. Households having disability require support in whichever way possible. We provide vocational training to such mothers & rural women artisans and generate direct employment for them to enable them to become self-sufficient. Show less
